Portrait #8 – Firas was born in Iraq, but his family moved to Canada when he was very young. He grew up there, became involved in various Assyrian organizations, and then moved to the United States, where he became an executive at tech companies. Passionate about his heritage and homeland, Firas finally decided to settle in Erbil-Ankawa with his family. He now lives there and brings valuable knowledge and experience to the community.
The Return launches its series of video portraits! Because each returnee has their own story, their own cultural background and their own ambitions, it’s important to understand each person’s journey and perhaps draw inspiration from them to build the future of our communities.
This series of portraits was made possible thanks to the financial support of l’Oeuvre d’Orient.
