On March 25th, The Space, the coworking office opened by The Return in Ankawa, Iraq, hosted its first event—a lecture on entrepreneurship led by seasoned business leader, David Fisher. The event was organized by the MustardSeed Foundation, supported by the Iraqi Startup Club, and partnered with The Return.

David Fisher’s session, titled “Succeeding in Entrepreneurship”, attracted a diverse audience of around 40 participants, including local residents, entrepreneurs, recent graduates, and members of the Assyrian-Chaldean diaspora. During the presentation, Fisher delved into essential topics like entrepreneurial strategy and the concept of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)—a vital tool for early-stage startups.

The event marked a milestone for The Return’s mission to foster local entrepreneurship, bridge gaps between communities, and provide the necessary support for those returning to the region to start or grow their businesses. As The Return continues its efforts to empower returnees from our community, and strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, events like these play a pivotal role in driving positive change and encouraging collaboration among diverse communities.
